  • Similarity
  • Continuation
  • Closure
  • Proximity
  • Figure & Ground

 

In the lab we then looked at manipulating images in Photoshop with an example of Louis Walsh.

In todays session we were asked to tell a story via 11 still photos. We decided to create a story about a man who takes cocaine, robs someone then kills her by accident.

This week in visual language we got an introduction to graphic illustration and development tools (Photoshop etc…). We looked at using layers, filters and basic concepts of using Photoshop.

In this weeks class we went on a field trip in conjunction with Digital Photography to the Botanic Gardens. At the Botanic Gardens we looked at patterns and textures in nature. We were then given 5 exercises: Contour Drawing, Blind Contuour Drawing, Negative Space, Pattern and Texture Thumbnail Sketches.





Visual Language: Week 3

This week we looked at the colour spectrum and which colours fell into which category. We looked at primary and complimentary colours and how to construct these using the colour wheel. After that we then looked at the usage of complimentary, analogous, triad and split-complimentary colours.

In this class we looked at comics, maps and animations in visual language. We looked at using dots, straight lines, shading and negative space as a medium for visual language. <bottle

This week we got an introduction of the module. We were asked to write a couple sentences about ourselves and draw 3 pictures describing it. We also were given instructions on what materials we needed for the module.
